Buying laptop memory is alot easier today than it was a few years ago. In the past it may have been tricky figuring out what type of ram the laptop needed and some laptops were very picky about the type/size and even make of ram you installed. However, these days the task of buying ram for your laptop is much easier. And not only is it easier to buy ram these days it's cheaper too because laptop memory prices have dropped significantly. Depending on the make of your laptop, you'll need to figure out what type of ram it uses. Typically, if it's a newer model then it's most likely that it will require DDR2. As DDR2 is most common in newer laptops manufactured within the last couple of years. If you're planning on installing the memory yourself, you will need to check whether your laptop has a memory compartment on the under side of your laptop. It will look like a little square door with a screw in it. This is where the memory is installed. However, if your laptops memory is not accessible in this way, i.e. is situated inside the laptop without an external compartment. Then you will need to have a qualified laptop service technician install the notebook laptop memory for you.
